Biergarten Lunch Review

For me going out to eat is one of my favorite things. I detest cooking for my family. I love them dearly, but good lord, I hate cooking for them. When I go out I want a meal that I didn’t cook, dishes I don’t wash, and a decent drink menu. As a mom I want there to be kids menu that caters to their dino-nuggie and French fry connoisseur tastes. As a wife, I want a little elegance and romance that I can sneak in with my spouse. Not every place can fulfill each of my desires for the perfect dining experience, but it should at least touch on them. On October 22nd 2022 my family and I went to Biergarten for the Eat to the Beat Food and Wine Festival in Disney's Epoct for lunch.

First Impression

The Biergarten is in the very back of the Germany pavilion in Epcot. Which is fantastic, because walking through Germany to get to the German restaurant only adds to the ambiance. Upon entering the restaurant, it looks like an outdoor biergarten under a starry sky. There is even a live German band playing music, and a dance floor for those who wish to cut loose while you dine. The table and chairs are wooden and complete the look to the restaurant theme.

We made reservations to this restaurant 3 months in advance, and there were limited seating availabilities at that time. Early reservations are highly recommended. We arrived about 10 minutes early to our reservations and were seated immediately. Our server attended our table right away, and was very friendly, informative, and helpful.

Dining Experience

The price for this restaurant is a set fee, based on age (adult/child), as it is a buffet. The food of course was German fare, and there was something for everyone to enjoy. Some of the items available were salad, cheese and beer soup, pretzel bread, sausages, schnitzel, chicken, & green beans. The dessert table had brownies, black forest cake, and a light fluffy cheesecake. Drinks were German beers, and white wines mostly (which happen to be some of my favorite). They also offer beer flights, so you can try 4 different German beers. As soon as you are seated, your drink orders are taken, and then you are able to go straight to the buffet, so there is no wait time before getting your meal. The food was all presented well, and fresh.

Pros and Cons

Pros: Great food, Live Music, Taste of Germany, Great scenery, buffet style food (able to sample a little of everything)

Cons: May not be able to walk in (Reservations needed), buffet style food (nothing is individually prepared), a bit on the pricey side

Overall Restaurant Rating

Let me be clear on my rating scale here, because I don’t want it to seem harsh. I rate 1-5 stars. If you ever have reviews at your job on their 1-5 scale, its kind of like that.

1 star = falls below standards

2 stars= needs improvement, falls short of expectations

3 stars = meets expectations

4 stars = exceeds expectations

5 stars = entirely another category of awesome – way above target.

So essentially 3 stars is good, rather than mediocre.

Sum up your thoughts and opinion on the product with a rating. 5 out of 5 stars? 1 out of 2 thumbs? Let people know what you think.

Overall Rating is 3.8. This is a Must-see place if you've never gone, but not a place that you have to go to each and every visit to Epcot. The ambiance, scenery, and live music are what draws me most to this place, and in my opinion makes it totally worth it.
