I am a fulltime working mom, with three kids. When I travel, I want it to be convenient, relaxing, and worth my investment. My family and I went on a weekend trip to Long Island on 4/22/23, and stayed at Travelodge in Manhasset. This was not supposed to be an exotic pampered vacation, just a place to sleep for the night.
First Impression
We checked in late in the evening, around 11pm. Check in process was very simple, and the staff was courteous. Parking looked scarce at first (in the front), but there was a larger parking lot in the back.
From the outside it looked a little dated, but inside the rooms were very nice.
The beds were a little high for my youngest to climb up, but perfect for the adults. The lighting was all recessed lighting. and linens were all standard quality.
Bathroom was spacious, with a stand in shower, and ample soap supply. There was no view to speak of, only the parking lot.
The Experience
The bed offered a very good night's sleep, much better than expected. We were within close proximity to all necessities. The area was urban, and fairly busy.
Pros and Cons
Pros - It was an affordable nights stay. We had a mini fridge, coffee maker, and TV. The beds were very comfortable.
Cons - No amenities, No view.
Overall Rating
Let me be clear on my rating scale here, because I don’t want it to seem harsh. I rate 1-5 stars. If you ever have reviews at your job on their 1-5 scale, its kind of like that.
1 star = falls below standards
2 stars= needs improvement, falls short of expectations
3 stars = meets expectations
4 stars = exceeds expectations
5 stars = entirely another category of awesome – way above target.
So essentially 3 stars is good, rather than mediocre.
